My friends and I decided to take a day trip to Duluth, Minnesota; which was roughly a three-hour drive from the Twin Cities. We started off driving in the morning on June 3rd, 2023. With one break, we drove all the way there but went a little further to get to the New Scenic Café, which is a café/restaurant with New American eats, along the North Shore between Duluth and Two Harbors. It was a cute little place and we ordered bread and butter to start as appetizers. I eventually got a wild mushroom crêpe with a sparkling elderflower lemonade whereas my friends got the daily soup, a potato sausage, frenched lamb rack, and a lobster roll. After lunch, we left the café and stood outside for a bit to look at the views. It was very foggy in Duluth today, which we had never seen before, so the sight was amazing.
We ended up driving back toward the city of Duluth and parked in Canal Park. From there, we visited many shops that I forgot the names of. We then walked along the North Shore of Lake Superior where it was still foggy and climbed on the rocks. Always a tradition that must be kept up with of course. Afterward, we went inside Fitger’s and browsed a few shops, including Duluth Kitchen Co., where we bought some jams. We then went to Mexico Lindo for dinner, where my friends ordered a horchata, classic beef chimichangas, a Philly cheese stake burrito, and something else that I do not totally remember. I got an Arroz con Mariscos, which was fantastic. Finally, we headed to Rocky Mountain Chocolate for some dessert, and I got dipped cherries in milk chocolate. This concluded our day in Duluth, and it was a great bonding time for us.
